On 26 August, there was major flash flooding and a mudslide in Rasuwa District near the Nepal-China border, and in Tibet in China. They have caused significant damage. There have been reports of deaths and injuries.
Infrastructure has been severely affected, including:
- roads
- transport networks
- water supplies
- electricity services.
Phone and internet services may also be affected in some areas. Damage assessments are ongoing.
Transport services in the area may be disrupted or cancelled, including flights and buses. Contact your transport provider to confirm your service is running before going to the airport or station.

- monitor local media for updates
- follow the advice of local authorities
- avoid floodwaters, landslide-prone areas and damaged infrastructure
