If you're trying to return to Australia, you can register your details with DFAT. Registration doesn’t guarantee we can facilitate your return to Australia. However it does help us better understand that you’re seeking to return home, assess your situation and provide information when it becomes available.

The Australian Government provides consular services for Australians overseas. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are working hard to provide advice and assistance to Australians in need. In some places our ability to provide consular services may be limited.

If you’ve been unable to return to Australia due to COVID-19 restrictions and are experiencing financial distress, you may be eligible to access financial support from the government.
There are limits on the number of incoming international passengers into Australia. Contact your airline or travel agent for the latest updates.
Madagascar has lifted the Health State of Emergency. Domestic flights and ground transport have resumed, as well as limited commercial international flights to and from Nosy Be. Flights to neighbouring Indian Ocean countries and islands (Seychelles, Comoros, Mauritius, La Réunion) remain suspended. Wear a face mask and follow social distancing measures. Regions are responsible for implementing local measures, and these measures may change with little notice.
When you arrive in Australia from overseas, you must complete 14 days of mandatory quarantine in designated facilities in the city you arrive in – unless you have an exemption from Home Affairs.
