A tropical cyclone warning is currently in place for Fiji as Tropical Cyclone Tomas moves slowly towards the Pacific nation. As of the morning of 16 March, the worst affected area was the Northern Division, which includes Vanua Levu and Taveuni. The Eastern Division is expected to feel the force of the cyclone later today.
A curfew is place in the Northern, Eastern and Central Divisions.
Flights into and out of Fiji may be delayed or cancelled. Australians planning to travel to or from Fiji should contact their airline and accommodation provider to check arrangements.
Information about what to do during a cyclone is available in the Natural Disasters, Climate and Severe Weather section of the travel advisory for Fiji.
